Primarily responsible for inventory and standard costing of activities related to our manufacturing operations. Major responsibilities include developing and maintaining product and standard costs, calculating overheads, operational analysis and inventory valuation. This includes month-end financial closing, reconciliations and reporting.


  • Calculate product cost and ensure standard costs are set prior to commercial launch
  • Monitors the accuracy of inventory related transaction postings from the General Ledger to third party reports; investigates and resolves discrepancies
  • Performs accurate and timely inventory related account reconciliations and analyzes / communicates variances; validates Cost of Goods Sold at month-end
  • Conducts Variance Analysis of Inventory related balance sheet accounts
  • Reviews and calculates inventory reserve related to excess, expired and obsolescence
  • Complete other monthly / quarterly financial tasks relating to inventory value, entering journal entries as required
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and other special projects as assigned
  • Aid in the creation and maintenance of strong internal controls and process documentation; participating in the review and testing of Sarbanes Oxley controls to ensure compliance
  • Assist the team in preparing for the quarterly and annual reviews and audit conducted by our independent auditors.
  • Assist in assembling the documentation required to support the quarterly Form 10-Qs and annual Form 10-K to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Coordinate with outside service providers to monitor receivables, ensure appropriate cash application and supervise the reconciliation of customer balances as necessary.
  • Prepare various financial statements and reports as assigned.
  • Assist with special projects, technical accounting analysis, and ad-hoc reporting (as assigned).
  • Position will require travel of approximately 20%


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required. CPA, or other financial certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years relevant experience
  • Biotech/pharma experience required
  • Experience with major ERP financial systems, Dynamics AX, is a plus
