  • Overview

    The Director of National & Regional Accounts role is responsible for managing all aspects of Radius Health’s business within a defined group of National and Regional Accounts. Individual assigned accounts will depend on prior experience and business priorities within a geography.  Overall responsibilities include optimizing access and reimbursement for Radius Health products on payer formularies, prescription drug lists (“PDLs”), treatment protocols, and medical policies. This position is field-based and can be located anywhere in the Central United States.


    • Informs Market Access and Marketing strategy development and management decisions by providing account and market segment subject matter expertise.
    • Collaborates closely with the Senior Director of National and Regional Accounts to establish strategic and tactical plans that align with those of Radius Health’s brands.
    • Creates, implements and maintains detailed account plans for targeted accounts. Maintains deep knowledge of Accounts’ mission, goals, history, geographic presence/influence, structure, payer mix, health care reform efforts, services, quality measures, financial performance, product coverage, performance and executive leadership.
    • Cultivates and leverages an expansive network of relationships with key customers within target accounts and industry organizations
    • Gains access and reimbursement for Radius Health products on Formularies, PDLs, Treatment Protocols, and Medical Policies.
    • Negotiates and measures contract performance with target accounts based on approved strategies.
    • Mobilizes resources and senior management support to capitalize on new opportunities and/or to address unforeseen threats with target accounts.
    • Analyzes and understands sales trends for each product sold to each account.
    • Identifies current and emerging trends in managed care rules, regulations, policies, procedures, reimbursement, benefit and structural designs.
    • Collaborates with both functional and cross functional colleagues to appropriately implement plans, provide guidance, give/receive feedback, ensure alignment and fully utilize resources. 
    • Partners with Field Sales colleagues to lead push and pull through programs at the regional level. Assess Account policies, oversight and investigational proposals. Together with in-market peers, develops solutions to ensure broad and affordable access, the evolution of policy and enhance Radius’ leadership position in the marketplace.
    • Ensures all activities are consistent with all regulations, laws and company compliance policies.


    • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
    • At least 10 years of pharma/biotech Account Management experience or equivalent is required.
    • 3 years of proven success as an Account Manager/Director responsible for National and/or Top Regional Commercial and/or Government Payer and PBMs or related Account Management experience including contract negotiations is required.
    • Experience calling on Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and/or Specialty Pharmacies is preferred.
    • Direct management or team leadership role, either field or headquarters based is preferred. Ability to influence without authority is required.
    • Extensive knowledge of the US health care market; US healthcare delivery, financial, and reimbursement mechanisms; ACA; formulary/PDL development, and compliance laws and regulations is required.
    • The incumbent will possess demonstrated abilities to develop a network of relationships with key individuals within assigned Regional Accounts.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-organizational projects and teams with and without direct management authority.
    • Experience with products with limited distribution networks and/or HUB models is preferred.
    • Ability to be flexible and manage change within a dynamic growing organization and an evolving health care market place as needs dictate.
    • Experience in Bone Health is preferred. 
    • Candidates should willing and able to travel approximately 60% of the time (average 3 days per week).
    • This position is field-based. The location is flexible within the central portion of the US.
