  • Overview

    Reporting to the Associate Director of Technical Accounting & Controls, the Senior Associate, Technical Accounting & Controls will be a primary resource for supporting management in driving SOX compliance and will also assist with technical accounting matters. This role will interact with various departments within Radius and with external auditors. This position provides an excellent opportunity for gaining hands-on experience with internal controls and candidate will become familiar with accounting and control practices of the company.   This position is located in Waltham, MA.


    • Assist in the coordination of the various aspects of SOX, including maintaining and monitoring the SOX timeline calendar and SOX instruction preparation;
    • Assist with the risk assessment analysis
    • Assist with COSO framework analysis from testing to gap assessment analysis;
    • Attend process walkthrough meetings, and update narratives and control descriptions and create flowcharts as necessary;
    • Assist in the design and implementation of new control activities, as needed;
    • Test internal controls and update risk and controls matrix as needed and as testing process is made. Summarize and present testing results to the AD Technical Accounting & Controls;
    • Identify areas of potential improvement for key processes and procedures;
    • Provide guidance on internal control issues, as needed;
    • Assist on special projects, compliance audits and new system developments, as needed;
    • Research complex accounting issues and assist the AD Technical Accounting & Controls with the implementation of procedures to ensure transactions are properly recorded under U.S. GAAP
    • Author technical white papers as required and assigned;
    • Perform general accounting functions, as assigned, to ensure that all closing deadlines are met and that all transactions are recorded in compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, and a CPA is preferred;
    • 2 – 5 years of relevant accounting experience;
    • Commercial biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
    • Knowledge of Corporate governance and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and requirements
    • An understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
    • Excellent attention to detail, ability to multitask and strong time management skills;
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills;
    • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is preferred;
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Intermediate to advanced Excel skills;
    • Ability to work independently and be a team player

     Work Environment:
