Overview

The Senior Director of Procurement will serve as the head of Procurement at Radius Health, Inc. and will be tasked with leading the implementation of procurement policies and activities resulting in a standardized procurement process that leverages buying power across the company, aligns cross-functional strategies, and ensures best value for spend. The SeniorDirector of Procurement will ensure the development and execution of sourcing strategies and support the procurement needs for the organization with a focus on continuous improvement and excellent business support.
 

Responsibilities

  • Establishes the procurement function, including a vision of the group’s long-term strategy and goals, and evaluates future organizational design and structure in support of business growth.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for procurement practices and tools, and excellence in navigating cross-functional disciplines.
  • Develops policies, processes, templates, and best practices to be used within purchasing and supplier management to support the Company’s objectives.
  • Educates Radius personnel on procurement best practices, and develop roles and responsibilities guidance to drive better pricing and performance.
  • Leads rigorous and objective contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders, legal department, and support groups.
  • Collaborates with others in Finance to understand budgets and financial forecast processes in an effort to identify areas of potential cost savings.
  • Develops and provides regular reporting on critical key performance indicators/metrics.
  • Maintains ownership of the purchasing requisition system and continually drive process improvements.
  • Organizes and ensures SOX 404 documentation reflects current practices and procedures for purchasing processes. Oversee the maintenance, identification, development and implementation of new forms, policies and processes for purchasing and assist with other areas as applicable
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully on a team as well as independently
  • Other ad hoc analysis / projects as deemed appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
  • Excellent communications and relationship management skills with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement processes, agreement management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, supplier diversity, supplier management, technology utilization, strategic planning, and integrated supply chain experience.
