Radius Health, Inc. is seeking independent and highly creative in vitro and in vivo Principal Scientist to join the rapidly growing osteoporosis and endocrine diseases research team. The successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced team and will be responsible for the independent design, execution, and delivery of experimental data to support drug discovery goals.


Radius Health has a growing portfolio of projects, and the Principal Scientist position would be ideal for a bench scientist with strong technical skills in bone biology, mammalian cell culture, in vitro cell based assays, transcriptional control, or in vivo pharmacology who is looking to deliver high impact data and drive project goals.


  • Develop and independently execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to determine, define, and compare the effects of abaloparatide and additional compounds on bone cell differentiation, downstream signaling with subsequent induction of transcriptional control. 
  • Expertise in bone morphometric analyses including routine histology, immunohistochemistry/ fluorescence, in situ hybridization are required
  • Deliver and interpret data including cell-based phenotypic screens, differentiation and mechanism of action studies, PD biomarker assays, and in vivo pharmacology studies for projects assay  
  • Integrate data and key scientific findings from the literature to assist with in vitro and in vivo study design, PK-PD efficacy experiments, optimization of dose and schedule and combinations
  • Present research findings and regularly attend project team meetings, work with Principal scientists, Directors, and other team members to answer key scientific questions


  • PhD with 5+ years of academic or industry experience, or equivalent.
  • A strong background in molecular and cell biology with emphasis in bone biology; in vitro screening, or in vivo pharmacology
  • Previous experience or knowledge of current endocrine therapies in bone.
  • Hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture and in vivo models, as well as familiarity with compound dosing and necropsy a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in using common computer software for calculating statistical significance, generating data sheets, and designing power-point slides
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and trouble-shoot experiments independently
  • Scientific achievements evidenced by a solid publication record
